MEET SHERTECH'S NUCLEAR PHARMACISTS

Rick started Shertech Pharmacy in February 1992 after opening 4 nuclear pharmacies for national chain pharmacies. Since opening, Shertech has grown to include 5 pharmacies and a cyclotron. Rick mainly practices from the Greenville pharmacy, helping to guide the busy injection business supplying every major hospital in the area. He graduated from Purdue University, earning a degree in Pharmacy with a specialization in nuclear pharmacy. With over 30 years of experience in the field, Rick is an expert in the industry and serves on the Board of Directors for United Pharmacy Partners (UPPI).

Jim Davis, R.Ph.

Jim worked as staff/compounding Pharmacist at the Spartanburg pharmacy for 6 years and made the move to Shertech’s cyclotron facility in December 2005. Jim prepares and dispenses the PET pharmaceuticals produced by Shertech’s medical cyclotron. Jim also has a strong background in manufacturing with 14 years of experience and has been instrumental in the development of Standard Operating Procedures for Shertech business.

Jim has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Lander University and earned his pharmacy degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, graduating first in his class. Jim received his MBA degree from Clemson in July 2005.

Wayne Toal, R.Ph.

Wayne manages the newest Shertech Pharmacy in Charlotte. He worked to open the business and is providing new options to the hospitals and doctors in the area. He has extensive experience in nuclear medicine, having worked with radio pharmaceuticals for over 25 years with a national manufacturer/distributor that trained the most student interns and many have chosen nuclear pharmacy as a career.

Wayne earned his Pharmacy degree at Mercer University in Atlanta and has stayed in Georgia and now the Carolinas during his career.

Rusty Prescott, III R.Ph.

Rusty is a dedicated nuclear and compounding pharmacist. He enjoys sharing his knowledge with local doctors and frequently answers questions from the patients that use the medications. Rusty also holds seminars for the local medical community and attends health fairs in the area.

Rusty earned his Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia. He trained at Purdue University to gain experience in Nuclear Pharmacy and received advanced training in compounding from PCCA (Pharmacy Compounding Centers of America).

Shertech Pharmacy compounds and delivers radiopharmaceuticals to hospitals and outpatient imaging centers in North and South Carolina. Pharmacies in Greenville, SC and Charlotte, NC focus on nuclear products.  The manufacturing facility in Duncan, SC features a cyclotron and produces the drugs for PET scans.  The pharmacies in Asheville, NC and Spartanburg, SC also offer compounded prescriptions for the retail market.  Just open as of June 1, 2010 the newest Shertech pharmacy in Kernersville, NC (near Winston Salem and Greensboro) is also designed as a nuclear and compounding pharmacy facility.
