Meet the Shertech Spartanburg Team

Jonathan BabbJonathan Babb, Pharm D

Jonathan Babb joined the Shertech team in 2008.  During his pharmacy training at the Medical University of South Carolina he received specialized training in nuclear pharmacy.  While working at Shertech, Jonathan received compounding training at PCCA.  He enjoys practicing both nuclear and compounding pharmacy at the Shertech of Spartanburg location.

Marie Elam, R. Ph

As a Michigan native, Marie earned her pharmacy degree at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan.  She now lives in upstate South Carolina and enjoys spending time with her husband and five children.  Marie loves compounding because it is an opportunity to help patients who need medicine tailored to their specific needs.

Rusty graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in pharmacy.  He attained his nuclear training at Purdue University.   Soon after starting his career, Rusty became interested in the compounding specialty and has received advanced training over the years with PCCA (Professional Compounding Centers of America).  In 1999, Rusty accepted the position as a partner and manager of the Spartanburg facility. Since then, Rusty has continued to grow the compounding business and serves most of the upstate.

Rusty specializes in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy consultations.  Along with educating his patients about the benefits and applications of compounded medication, Rusty also participates in community health and wellness fairs, seminars, and he presents continuing education lectures for health care professionals about the importance of compounding in the health care industry.

Karen Sheriff

Karen SheriffKaren is a graduate of Purdue University and has worked in the nuclear pharmacy industry since 1980.  As a co-founder of Shertech Pharmacy, she has worked to open each location and helped train personnel.  As an active member of United Pharmacy Partners, Inc, the Independent Nuclear Pharmacy group, she has actively recruited and promoted nuclear pharmacists around the country.  Karen served on the South Carolina Society of Nuclear Medicine Board of Directors for 6 years, serving as Secretary for two years and Legislative Chair for 4 years.  She also served on the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) as a Board member.  SCRQSA is a Legislative mandated group that oversees the certification of all technologists that delivery ionizing radiation.  Currently Karen is on the Board of Trustees for the local community blood bank – The Blood Connection that services North and South Carolina.  She also enjoys working as an advisor to collegians at Clemson University and is an active member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood which promotes higher education for women.

Cierra is a graduate of the South Carolina College of Pharmacy.  She attended the Columbia, SC campus and graduated as an authorized user from their nuclear pharmacy tract.  Cierra manages our Kernersville, NC facility which provides service to the local nuclear medicine community and also provides compounded medications to local hospitals, veterinary clinics, integrative medicine practices, and also to the general public in the Triad area of North Carolina.

David Hart R. Ph


David is a graduate in Pharmacy from University of Oklahoma and initially provided service to the nuclear medical community. He, now, has a nuclear and compounding pharmacy practice serving hospitals, clinics, the veterinary community, and the general public in the Winston-Salem, NC area with their medical needs.
